Ottawa Suzuki Strings envisions its performance groups as high level ensembles comprised of technically advanced, highly dedicated students for whom a commitment to excellence in music is the central focus of their extracurricular lives.
Stellae Boreales has an ambitious mission:
Stellae Boreales, led by two highly qualified coaches, aims to be one of the worlds finest ensembles of young violinists by: striving for musical excellence through the provision of high quality ensemble training for advanced violin students; promoting student knowledge and appreciation of violin ensemble music; performing regularly within the National Capital Region, as well as nationally and internationally; studying and performing a wide range of the finest repertoire available, including commissioned works; and committing to a rigorous schedule of rehearsal and performance.
Ottawa Suzuki Strings' advanced violin performance group, Stellae Boreales, was founded in 2004 to provide a continuum of opportunities for the school's most advanced and committed musicians. Musicianship development is core to the program, and activities for both social and musical growth are provided as part of the group's annual calendar.
